This Policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on https://www.kwikfasthurry.com, https://legal.kwikfasthurry.com and inside the KwikFastHurry apps. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
#1. What these technologies are
- Cookies — small text files a website stores in your browser, either for the session or for a set period.
- Local storage — a larger, longer-lived browser store used to remember preferences.
- Software development kits (SDKs) — code inside our mobile apps that performs a function such as crash reporting or analytics.
- Pixels and web beacons — tiny transparent images in a page or email that record that it was opened.
- Device identifiers — the advertising identifier your phone provides (IDFA on iOS, AAID on Android), which you can reset or block in device settings.
#2. Categories we use
#2.1 Strictly necessary
Always on. The Platform cannot work without them, and they do not require consent.
| Purpose | Example |
|---|---|
| Keeping you signed in | Session token |
| Security and fraud prevention | Anti-CSRF token, bot detection |
| Load balancing | Server routing cookie |
| Remembering your cookie choices | Consent record |
| Basket persistence | Items you added before signing in |
#2.2 Functional
Remember choices you made so the Platform behaves the way you left it: language, theme, saved delivery address, accessibility settings, and whether you dismissed a banner. Switching these off makes the experience clumsier but still usable.
#2.3 Analytics and performance
Help us understand how the Platform is used so we can fix and improve it: pages and screens viewed, feature engagement, load times, crash and error reports, and A/B test allocation. We configure analytics to truncate IP addresses where the provider supports it.
#2.4 Advertising and measurement
Used to show KwikFastHurry ads on other services and to measure whether they worked — for example, whether an ad led to an installation or a first order. These may involve sharing a hashed identifier with an advertising partner. These are off until you consent, and are covered by the opt-out on Your Privacy Choices.
#3. Third parties that set cookies or receive data
We work with a small number of established providers. Categories include:
| Provider type | What it does | Category |
|---|---|---|
| Cloud and CDN | Serves and protects the site | Necessary |
| Payment processor | Card authorisation and fraud scoring | Necessary |
| Product analytics | Usage measurement | Analytics |
| Crash reporting | Diagnoses app failures | Analytics |
| Mapping and routing | Displays maps and estimates | Necessary |
| Advertising platforms | Ad delivery and attribution | Advertising |
| Customer support tooling | Live chat and ticketing | Functional |
The current provider list, with links to each one's privacy notice, is available in the cookie banner's "Manage preferences" panel and on request from privacy@kwikfasthurry.com.
#4. How to control cookies
#4.1 On our websites
Use the cookie banner on your first visit, or reopen "Cookie settings" from the footer at any time. Your choice is stored for 12 months, after which we ask again. Necessary cookies cannot be switched off.
#4.2 Global Privacy Control
We honour the Global Privacy Control signal. If your browser sends it, we treat advertising cookies as declined for that browser automatically.
#4.3 In your browser
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings. Blocking all cookies will sign you out and break parts of the site.
#4.4 In the mobile apps
| Platform | Where |
|---|---|
| iOS | Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and the app's own tracking prompt |
| Android | Settings → Privacy → Ads → Delete advertising ID |
| In the KwikFastHurry app | Profile → Privacy → Analytics & Advertising |
#4.5 Industry opt-outs
You can also use the Digital Advertising Alliance and Network Advertising Initiative opt-out tools. These are browser-based and need to be set again if you clear cookies.
#5. Do Not Track
Browsers send a "Do Not Track" header inconsistently and there is no agreed industry standard for responding to it, so we do not respond to DNT. We do honour Global Privacy Control, which is a defined standard — see Section 4.2.
#6. How long cookies last
- Session cookies are deleted when you close the browser.
- Persistent cookies last from 24 hours up to 24 months depending on purpose. Consent records last 12 months; analytics identifiers typically last 13 months; advertising identifiers typically last 90 days.
#7. Changes
We update this Policy when we add or remove a technology. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. Material changes will prompt the cookie banner to reappear so you can review your choices.
