This notice covers the KwikFastHurry Rider app. It supplements the Privacy Policy.
Riders give us more personal information than anyone else on the Platform — identity documents, licence, vehicle details and continuous location while working. We take that seriously, and this notice is deliberately specific about it.
#1. Location — the important part
We collect your precise location only while you are online in the Rider app.
| State | Location collected? |
|---|---|
| Offline | No |
| Online, waiting for an offer | Yes — to find offers near you |
| On an active delivery | Yes — for navigation, live tracking and distance pay |
| App closed but you are online | Yes, in the background, with a persistent notification shown |
| Offline, app open | No |
| Account deactivated or deleted | No |
When you go offline, location collection stops immediately. We do not track you between shifts, on days you do not work, or after you delete the app.
Android and iOS both require an explicit background-location permission, and both show an ongoing indicator while it is in use. If you deny it, the app cannot dispatch offers to you.
#1.1 Why we need it
- To offer you deliveries that are near you.
- To navigate you to the Vendor and to the Customer.
- To show the Customer where their order is, while it is in transit.
- To calculate distance-based pay accurately — this protects your earnings.
- To reconstruct what happened after an accident or a safety incident, or a disputed delivery.
#1.2 How long we keep it
Location traces are kept for 12 months, then deleted or aggregated so they no longer identify you. Traces relating to an open incident or dispute are kept until it is resolved.
#2. Everything else we collect
| Category | Examples | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Identity | Name, date of birth, photo, address, contact details | Account, verification, Customer identification at handover |
| Government documents | Driving licence, right-to-work documents, taxpayer identification | Legal eligibility, screening, tax reporting |
| Background check | Criminal and driving record results from our screening provider | Safety of Customers and the public |
| Vehicle | Type, make, model, registration, insurance certificate | Dispatch suitability, legal compliance |
| Banking | Account details for payouts | Paying you |
| Delivery activity | Offers received, accepted, declined, completion times, waiting times, cancellations | Dispatch, pay calculation, quality |
| Ratings | Customer ratings and feedback | Quality management |
| Photographs you take | Drop-off photos, order photos | Proof of delivery, dispute resolution |
| Communications | Masked calls and messages with Customers, support tickets | Order coordination, support |
| Device | Model, OS, app version, battery level, motion sensors, diagnostics | Dispatch reliability, safety features, crash fixes |
Motion and speed data is used only for safety features — detecting a possible collision and suppressing notifications while you are moving. We do not use it to score your driving or to set your pay.
#3. What other people see about you
| Who | Sees |
|---|---|
| Customer, during an active delivery | Your first name, profile photo, vehicle type, and live location on the map |
| Customer, after delivery | Your first name only, on the receipt |
| Vendor | Your first name, photo and the order you are collecting |
| Other Riders | Nothing |
Nobody sees your surname, phone number, home address, email, licence, vehicle registration, background check results, banking details, earnings, or your location when you are offline.
Calls and messages between you and a Customer go through a masking service. Neither of you sees the other's real number, and the connection expires when the delivery ends.
#4. Background checks
Background screening is carried out by a third-party consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Your rights in that process — disclosure, authorisation, a copy of the report, and the pre-adverse and adverse action procedure — are set out in the Background Check Disclosure.
Results are stored separately from your main profile with restricted access, and are used only for eligibility.
#5. Who we share your data with
- Customers and Vendors — only the limited fields in Section 3.
- Background check and identity verification providers.
- Payment and payout providers, and tax reporting services.
- Insurers, where a claim or an incident requires it.
- Mapping and routing providers, which receive location to return routes.
- Cloud hosting, analytics, support and communications providers, under contract.
- Law enforcement and regulators, under valid legal process — see Section 5 of Contact & Legal Notices. We notify you unless legally prohibited.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data for advertising.
#6. Automated decisions
Dispatch is automated — an algorithm decides which offers to send you, based mainly on your distance from the pick-up, your vehicle type, and current demand. Declining offers does not reduce your future offers.
Fraud detection is partly automated and can trigger a review or a temporary hold. A person reviews every permanent deactivation, and you may contest it under Section 13.3 of the Rider Agreement.
#7. How long we keep your data
| Data | Retained for |
|---|---|
| Profile and contact details | Until deletion, then erased within 30 days |
| Location traces | 12 months |
| Delivery and earnings records | 7 years, for tax and contractor reporting |
| Background check results | While active, plus 2 years |
| Identity and right-to-work documents | While active, plus 2 years |
| Insurance and licence documents | 3 years after expiry |
| Drop-off photographs | 90 days |
| Support conversations | 3 years |
| Safety incident records | Up to 7 years |
#8. Your controls
| Control | Where |
|---|---|
| Go offline, stopping location collection | The Online / Offline switch |
| Update vehicle, licence or insurance | Profile → Documents |
| Update bank and tax details | Profile → Payments |
| Turn off marketing messages | Profile → Notifications |
| Download your data, including your location history | Profile → Privacy → Download my data |
